Until Dr.
Nolan got to his ah-ha moment I was a bit behind the objective. Very much like
the board, “I get it”. I agree that you can not discount the importance of “Marketing,
Recruitment and Admissions”. Riding the wave of social media is good business.
More importantly you are meeting prospective student where they are right now.
There is no need to sell the new technology that will soon be implemented;
rather you can be on the leading edge of upgrades and breakthroughs.
Consider
the 800 alumni who may have passed like ships in the night in a journal or two.
Those same folks can now journey together and share their experience while “still”
developing pride in the institution that they chose before this revolution. Consider
the connectivity of the potential alumni who already have a relationship with Southwestern College and will soon bond
with professors, classmates, those who share common interest, and of course
that base of 800 alumni.
